concert and exhibition

29/06/2023 (Thursday)
Part I 5:00 pm – Przemyśl Music Society (5 Rynek Street) – concert
Part II 6:30 pm – Ukrainian House in Przemyśl (5 Kościuszki Street) – exhibition

This event is aimed at presenting the output of several Ukrainian artists whom we have hosted at the Ukrainian House in Przemyśl as part of their artistic residencies, organised with the support of the Polish Humanitarian Action and CARE.

Part I (Music Society)

At 5:00 pm, the Przemyśl Music Society (5 Rynek Street) will host a concert by:

Oksana Stechyshyn (piano),
Volodymyr Paratsii (guitar),
Kostia Kravchuk (piano)

Oksana will perform pieces by such Ukrainian virtuosos as Maksym Berezovsky, Mykola Lysenko, Vasyl Barvinskii and Myroslav Skoryk

Brilliant pieces by the guitar composers Roland Dyens and Maurizio Colonna will be performed by Volodymyr Paratsii.

Volodymyr and Oksana will also perform amazing and unique adaptations of several guitar classics.

Kostia Kravchuk will present his own jazz arrangements of Ukrainian folk songs from our region.

Part II (Ukrainian House)

At 6:30, visit the Ukrainian House and its po_karpacka space to witness the opening of the exhibition. The works of the three female and one male artists presented there revolve around the building of the titular safe space within the context of fleeing the danger of the war in Ukraine, as well as the forces of nature unleashed as a result.

The artists spontaneously approach the subject of security, analysing it using their media of choice – large and small-scale images (Vladyslav Riaboshtan), poetic books and installations (Lilya Petrova) and traditional papercuts filled with symbols and references (Natalia Kurnosova).
