Tomorrow at 11:30 am, right after we open, we will hold a panel discussion titled STRENGTHENING REFUGEE IDENTITY – TAPPING ECONOMIC POTENTIAL AND PROMOTING INTEGRATION, part of the Summit. The World for Ukraine – The Roadmap to Freedom and Recovery event, which starts at Rzeszów’s G2A Arena.
As a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, more than ten million Ukrainians – men, women and children – have fled to various countries. Although many decided to return home once the front lines stabilised, many still remain abroad. This large group, which remains split between their homeland and their host nations, redefines the traditional meanings of the concepts of refugee status and diaspora. Recognising the Ukrainians’ strength, resilience and skill, the panel discussion focuses on strategies of integrating with host communities, while also touching upon the issue of the Ukrainian state’s desire for its citizens to return home.
Panel discussion participants:
Konrad Fijołek – Mayor of Rzeszów
- Edwin Bendyk – President of the Batory Foundation
- Anna Dąbrowska – President of Homo Faber from Lublin
- Igor Horków – Head of the Przemyśl branch of the Association of Ukrainians in Poland
- Grzegorz Gruca - Vice President of the Polish Humanitarian Action
- Eva Hussain – Relationship & Growth Director at Polaron
Host: Martyna Bogaczyk – President of the Education for Democracy Foundation
We encourage everyone interested in attending to take part in the panel discussion.
