IT’S GOOD TO HAVE A NEIGHBOUR

Last week, we participated in the ‘DOBRZE MIEĆ SĄSIADA’ (IT’S GOOD TO HAVE A NEIGHBOUR) event, which summarised 20 years of cross-border cooperation between Poland as a member of the European Union and Ukraine. The summary was also the inauguration of the Interreg NEXT Poland-Ukraine 2021–2027 Programme. The Ukrainian House was visited by its participants, who wanted to see the progress of the ‘Scena Galicyjska’ project, which the Ukrainian House in Przemyśl Foundation and the Association of Ukrainians in Poland have been working on together with Caritas-Spes of the Lviv Archdiocese, the Centre of Polish Culture and European Dialogue in Ivano-Frankivsk and the Foundation for Helping Poles in the East. The project is 90% EU-funded.

On 31 May this year in Przemyśl, together with representatives of the institutions involved in the programme – state and regional authorities from Poland and Ukraine, the European Commission, representatives of Polish-Ukrainian initiatives, as well as residents of Przemyśl, we officially inaugurated the Interreg NEXT Poland-Ukraine 2021–2027 Programme, opening project submissions.

To mark that 2023 is the 20th anniversary of Polish-Ukrainian cross-border cooperation as part of the programme, the event is also the first in a series of 20 organised to celebrate the occasion. More information about this and the other events can be found at: https://pl-ua.eu/pl
